Chiara is an editor, writer and award-winning journalist.
I’m Scottish and based in London, where I currently work as Time Out’s Deputy UK Editor. For my work at Time Out, I was selected as one of the PPA’s 30 Under 30 and was shortlisted for Best Features Writer at the BSME Talent Awards.
I’ve written for titles including The Guardian, British Vogue, Vice and Dazed – and written for brands like Selfridges, Uber Eats and Sky. I’ve also hosted talks, been a nominator for the BRITs Rising Star award and have appeared as an expert voice on BBC radio and podcasts.
I’m available for freelance writing and editing commissions, as well as work in media and brand strategy, Gen Z engagement, SEO and social media.
I write and edit content about music, nightlife, cities, Gen Z and women’s issues – as well as other culture, lifestyle and social topics.
For Time Out, I plan, commission, edit and write features – from celebrity profiles and deeply reported long reads to humour pieces and opinion. I’ve interviewed individuals like Sadiq Khan, Rita Ora, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Raye and Jacqueline Wilson. I’ve reviewed restaurants, Glastonbury, exhibitions and plays. I’ve written about the murky world of property guardianships, the best club nights in the country, the rise of Welsh-language music and the fight to save Latin Village from gentrification. I’ve also investigated Oxford Street’s sweet shops and uncovered rising reports of sexual assault in London venues.
For Vice, I’ve written about people in relationships with AI chatbots and non-consensual filming. For Dazed, I’ve written about secret Facebook groups helping female safety, and for Vogue, I’ve written about innovations within personalised contraception and Gen Z women growing their armpit hair. I co-hosted the first episode of The Skinny’s clubs podcast and have been a guest on Clash Magazine’s Overtones podcast. I’ve also been a nominator for the Scottish Alternative Music Awards.
